Ok, so here are the changes from the Red and Blue Rescue Team games. There are no Friend Areas, thats real good! Since the Friend Areas
limit which Pokemon you can recruit! Friend Areas you have to pay for and they're expensive! So it's good that they got rid of the Friend
Areas in Pokemon MD Explorers of Time and Darkness. Also, you know how the bosses in the Rescue Team games always give out EXP. well, in Explorers
of Time, they got rid of that. I kind of liked how the bosses gave out EXP. They help you level up quicker somewhat. =C No more massive dungeons!!!
In Red and Blue Rescue Team, they usually have 99 floors of a dungeon and 40 floors! That's going to take a lot of time to get to the end! I'm glad
that's changed too in Explorers of Time. You in the dungeon constantly, (or not) eating your Apples, and using up a lot of your items. They
changed when to battle which boss. You battle a Legendary later in the game so you don't have to worry about your items shorting
out so fast. While in the Blue and Red Rescue Teams you battle a Legendary very early. They changed the entire Pokemon Map! New areas, plus a new
type of town! It's called Treasure Town, much better than Pokemon Square. Also, you don't have a Team Base like you do in Red and Blue Rescue Team.
Instead, you and your partner are living in Wigglytuff's Guild. The ranks are changed a bit too. Longer line of ranks. From Normal Rank to Master.
The starter Pokemon you can be and your partner can be more choices and some of the choices are taken out.(Machop, Psyduck, and Eevee) The
bosses are also changed. Makuhita's Dojo is changed to Marowak's Dojo. At the post-ending you can evolve Pokemon, but after graduating from
the Guild. However, you and your partner are unable to evolve thanks to another tiny problem. You don't have to switch leaders to evolve
the specific Pokemon! When you go to the Spring to evolve it'll just pop up a list of Pokemon of who can evolve! =D Better graphics in
Explorers of Time, more detailed and colorful! Rather than all like whitish, and flat looking. XP In the textbox where you go in dungeons
the text scrolls faster in Explorers of Time. When you talk to a Pokemon the sound of the text scrolling is a little more high-pitched which
makes it more easier to listen to. THey changed up some of the features so that you won't have to do work finding friends to play with. When
you first go to the Top Menu the picture is different. The Personality Quiz, the screen's brighter(not eye-hurting) yet the questions
are in more improved boxes. Different Items! New IQ Skills! Lots of changes to list! Pokemon MD Explorers of Time has improved a lot since Pokemon MD Blue and Red Rescue Team! =D
New Features
You have more compatibility with Wi-Fi Connection(WFC), allows a team member to aid a friend in need which allows more than 4 team members. Defeated teams can use the "Standby Adventure" mode so
players may revisit dungeons to collect items and raise their money count but without the ability to level up. New items are introduced in treasure boxes, which you can open by paying a small
fee of 150 Poké at Xatu Appraisal in Treasure Town(below Kangaskhan Storage). Some rare items are only usable with a specific Pokemon. They also created new evolution items to use on
certain Pokemon so they can evolve. Eggs are introduced in this game, and you can choose to accept the newly hatched Pokémon to your team or not.
Music
The music here is like almost all changed! The new music is more un-choppy. More smooth, no mecha-like music. It's not too high, not too low, just perfect. Unlike the Rescue Team
games, the music sounded like it was on a radio, and it was kind of choppy, plus very mechanical-like. So the music is a very good change in Explorers of Time!
Gameplay
The gameplay isn't changed from Red and Blue Resue Team games. You go to Treasure Town, link moves, buy items, store items, train in a dojo which has dungeons which have one or two types of Pokemon(Fire/Dark), and save money. Players go into
dungeons, completes missions, and during explorations they battle hostile Pokemon. During the main story, if either you(the hero), or your partner faints, you both are kicked right out, lose all your money you had, and half of your items or
more. Like previous installments, players can send a SOS letter if they are defeated in a dungeon. which can be done by using passwords or DS Wireless Connection. In Explorers of Time, you can now use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. They can also
choose to be notified of friends in need of a rescue by a registered email or through the Wii Message Board in Explorers of Time.
Plot
Like the previous Mystery Dungeon Games, you take a personalityy quiz when you start to determine which Pokemon you are. Than after taht you choose you partner that's not the same type as you. Than you start you adventure.
There's always a conflict in the main story that you have to stop by defeating a tough legendary Pokemon t the end of the story. Than comes a sad ending. You leave the Pokémon world your in, and you partner than after the credits
roll you come back and than the post-ending bumos in. Explorers of Time has a completely different, and more organized post-ending. In the previous MD(Mystery Dungeon) Games you have to buy Friend Areas to unlock most of the post-ending
events because the Pokemon in the event will be recruited and will need that specific area. At least they got rid of that in Explorers of Time.
Conclusion
This game is a lot better than the Rescue Team Games. It has improved a lot since, everything in it seems better and more uncomplicated! Not the best game in my opinion but
very good! I suggest that you should try it sometime! ;D So that ends a Mystery Dungeon Pokemon game review! Come back to Kasumi for more game reviews!
