Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen Review

Hi there everyone! Here is our first Pokemon game review! Its written by CDB Water, and its about the games Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen!~ Enjoy!

Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen versions are a pair of main series Generation III games that are set in the Kanto region. These games are the remakes of the original pair of Pokemon Games, Pokemon Red and Blue. They have much more stuff then what they had in Pokemon Red and Blue versions. But We will get in that later on in this review =D. FireRed and LeafGreen went on to become the second best-selling games of the Game Boy Advance. The first being Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Lets move on with this review. ^_^

Changes from Pokmon Red and Blue - 10/10

Players can now play as a female character, as well as choosing to play as the male character that was default in Generation I. The music is much better =D. As in all Generation III games, Pokemon now have natures, abilities, genders, and can hold items. Magnemite and Magneton is both electric and steel type, as they were in Generation II as well as Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. A new southern region, the Sevii Islands, is accessible, after you beat the 7th gym. You can also catch Generation II Pokemon. Trainers outdoors can be rebattled using the Vs Seeker that you get in Vermilion City in the Pokemon Center. Just talk to the girl next to the Pokemon Center desk. he Elite Four can be re-battled and get Generation II Pokemon on their teams. Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant, and Hydro Cannon are available as move tutor moves to the Kanto starters' final forms. You can find the lady that teaches that to your Pokemon on Island II in the Sevii Islands. Team Rocket has an expanded role in the game's post-Elite storyline, they also have a new base in the Sevii Islands.

Music - 9/10

Like I said before the music in this game is much better then it was in Red and Blue. Lavender Town in my opinion has the best music in the game. Because the music is kind of emo. I'm not saying that I'm emo but I like the music :). Also on one of the Sevii Islands(I can't remember which one >_ <) is the remake of The Lake of Rage from Gold and Silver. But other then all that, then is not much to say about the music in these games except the music is really good.

Sevii Islands - 10/10

Yes, Sevii Islands is a topic in this review. The reason of that is.... I LOVE THE SEVII ISLANDS XD! Such an awesome reason right? Anyway, the Sevii Islands are an archipelago of nine large islands and several small islands surrounding them far south of Kanto. But they are only in FireRed and LeafGreen. I don't like that too much but its ok. They also have some relation to the Orange Islands in the anime as both are south of Kanto. There are seven islands you can visit. But you can only visit 3 of those islands in till you beat the Elite Four and do some stuff for a person on One Island.

Story - 8/10

I should have covered this earlier in this review but I couldn't wait to talk about the other stuff. Now, time to talk about the story *pops his fingers*. You are a young boy or girl. Like I said earlier you can choose now. You are about to get a starter Pokemon from Professor Oak, so you go to his lab but he is not there so you look around for him(well I did... for like an hour XD) then you decide to leave without a Pokemon. After you start to leave into the grass Professor Oak stops you and takes you back to his lab. You will find you rival there saying stuff like I have been wait for forever(not exactly those words but something like that), Oak lets you choose your Pokemon first. You can choose either Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. your rival will pick the one that will do the most damage to yours. If you want to know the rest of the story you going to have to get the game yourself =D.

Gameplay - 9/10

There is not much to say about the gameplay in FireRed/LeafGreen. I mean its a Pokemon game. Who hasn't played a Pokemon game at least once? Other than people that hate Pokemon. But like I said theres not much to say about gameplay form Pokemon games except thats its awesome.

Summary

Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen are in my opinion the best Pokemon games for the Game Boy Advance. If I were you I would go out and buy it. They are really great games. Make sure you come back to Kasumi for more Pokemon video games reviews and more! ^_^
