Pokemon Game Timeline

Hiiya everyone! It looks like you've found your way over to the Pokemon Game Timeline page! This page describes my personal experience with each of the Pokemon games as they are released.

The Official Pokemon Games

Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow

Personally, I've never played one of these games before, but these were and were not the first Pokemon Games released in a way. Some of you may know that Pokemon used to be called Pocket Monsters. When the first Pocket monsters games came out, they weren't very popular. Hardly anyone knew about them. Then one day, the name changed from Pocket Monsters, to a shorter version; Pokemon! Then Pokemon quickly became one of the best selling and most popular games ever. O.o Isn't that strange. But anyway, since I haven't played Red, blue or yellow, I won't be writing information about them. You can find information about these games on much bigger sites, such as Bulbapedia.com or Serebii.net .

Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal

Ahh, the era of the second generation of Pokemon games. Nearly all the boys in my class back then (in year 2 I think) were obsessed about playing the Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal on their consoles which they brought to school every day. The teachers soon banned all Pokemon games at school. In this generation, my family couldn't afford to get me a Gameboy console, so I couldn't play any of these games. I watched m friends play them though. Oh, and in Pokemon Crystal, you could finally play as a female character! Her default name was Kris, or Crystal.

Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald

Time does fly be quickly, and we are already up to the section about Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. The characters which you played as in these games were named May (female) and Brendan (male). Again with the above games, I didnt play any of these games, but watched my friends play. It was a shame really, as in the Pokemon Anime, the Hoenn region was my favorite one. D=

Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum

I finally got a Nintendo DS! Yesss! But my uncle had got me a DS for Christmas. He had it imported from London, which meant that I was one of the first people in Australia to get the DS! (Early 2003) But when the DSlite came out, I wasn't allowed to get it. Mom and Dad said "Why do you need a Ds lite when you've already got the original DS?" Well anyway, Pokemon Diamond was the first Pokemon game I played on any game console. Despite my first time playing, I was soon coming up with useful movesets and beating everyone's teams at school. =P (I was in year 6 at this time) Pokemon D/P was set in the region Sinnoh, and the characters were named Dawn (female), Lucas (male) , and Pearl. (rival)

Pokemon Firered, and Leafgreen

Yes, I know that Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen came out before Diamond and Pearl, but then again, I never said that this list of games was in order. I acquired a copy of Pokemon Leafgreen since my best buddy had just become anti-Pokemon and had given away all of his Pokemon games. (I didnt get all his games, he gave them to different people) I think this was the worst time for me. (year 6 still) Many of my friends had become anti Pokemon. Me and Suada-(other best friend) were the only people in our class who still liked Pokemon. Pokemon Leafgreen's characters were Leaf, (female), Red, (male), and Gary, (rival). It was a remake of Red and blue, and set in the Kanto region.

Pokemon Puzzle/Trozei/Link, Dash, etc

Okay, I'm not going to go over information on these games, because truthfully, I have never played them. If you'd like info on this game though, please visit Bulbapedia, or Serebii.

Pokemon Heartgold and SoulSilver

Pokemon HeartGold and Soulsilver are the anticipated remakes of Pokemon Gold and silver. Many fans have waited for this moment to come, and it finally has. Well... nearly anyway. They are already released in Japan, but not yet in other countries.
